Step your shit up: America (and guest)
This installment brought to by the lazy bastard @ I Left My…(y’all know the rest)
Similar to Keith Olbermann’s Worst Persons In the World, “Step Your Shit Up” is a call to arms to do just that. And because its me I dont feel like devoting multiple paragraphs to serious shit such as: poverty, the economy, racism, our increasing debt, being in debt to China, increasing cost of education, continued dependance on oil, being leaders in wasted resources, etc There are far better websites and blogs(google is your friend. learn more and fight to end _______.) to check out for all of that.
This is to America and NASA i guess to step its space exploration game up. Its almost 2010 and I dont think we are anywhere near having a manned landing on Mars. According to wikipedia,
“The European Space Agency hopes to land humans on Mars between 2030 and 2035. This will be preceded by successively larger probes, starting with the launch of the ExoMars probe and a Mars Sample Return Mission. On September 28, 2007, NASA administrator Michael D. Griffin stated that NASA aims to put a man on Mars by 2037″
2010 was a pretty random year I picked, only because it had a nice whole number in it. But I’m surprised that we are still at least 20 years away from astronauts landing on Mars. As much technology of society has advanced, have the technologies for space exploration remained stagnant? It takes 6-8 months to travel from Mars to Earth, thats a long way from home. The distance and variables for disaster are likely reasons why NASA is reticent though I’m sure many astronauts would jump the oppurtunity to be the first on Mars. I guess because of the war and all of the debt a lot of NASA’s funding has been cut and NASA has been stuck twiddling its thumbs. Since the moon landing all we’ve done is launch satellites and the Mars rover, if anything it feels like he space program has been regressing since the moon landing. NASA! America! I say to you…step your space exploration game up! Step your shit up!
Look at all Mars has to offer!
